The Siemens SENTRON 5SM1614-0 is a 2-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) from the 5SM1 series, type AC, rated for 40 A at 230 V AC with a 300 mA residual trip threshold.
Thermal derating and conductor range
The 40 A rating holds at 45 °C ambient; above that, current must be derated stepwise — 38.4 A at 50 °C, 36.8 A at 55 °C, down to 32 A at 70 °C. Terminal capacity accepts solid or stranded conductors from 1 to 16 mm², with a tightening torque of 2.5 to 3 N·m on the screw terminals. The IP20 rating applies once installed in a distribution board with conductors connected — not a standalone outdoor device.
DIN-rail integration and mounting
