The Siemens 5SM1617-6 is a SENTRON 5SM1-series RCCB — a residual current circuit breaker — rated 80 A at 230 V AC, 50 Hz, with a 300 mA Type A fault-current trip. The 80 A rating holds at 40 °C and 45 °C; above that it derates linearly to 64 A at 70 °C, so a panel in a hot enclosure or near a heat source needs that thermal curve checked against the continuous load. Type A detection catches pulsating DC as well as AC residual currents, which is what you need downstream of single-phase rectifiers, VFDs, or switching power supplies that generate smoothed DC fault components. The 300 mA trip threshold is a fire-protection level, not personnel protection (that would be 30 mA or below); it's sized for submain or feeder circuits where earth leakage from equipment capacitance is expected.
