What the ratings mean for fit
The 5SM2445-6: The 63 A AC rating is the thermal continuous current at 45 °C ambient — at 40 °C it derates to 58.6 A, at 50 °C to 56.7 A, and at 70 °C to 50.4 A. That means if your panel ambient runs hot (say above 45 °C), you need to account for the derating curve; the part won't carry its full 63 A label at elevated temperatures. The 100 mA residual current is fixed — not adjustable — and the instantaneous design means no intentional time delay, so it trips on the first half-cycle of a fault. Type A detection covers sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC residual currents, which is the standard for most single-phase electronic loads (switched-mode supplies, drives with front-end rectifiers).
