The Siemens SENTRON 5SM3316-6KL01 is a 2-pole residual current operated circuit breaker (RCCB) rated 63 A at 230 V AC, with a 30 mA trip threshold and Type A fault current sensitivity. It is designed as short-time delayed (selective) for coordination with downstream devices, and carries a 10 kA short-circuit current rating (SCCR) per IEC/EN standards.
A standard Type AC RCCB would not see those pulses. The short-time delayed (selective) characteristic means this RCCB intentionally delays tripping on a ground fault to give a downstream RCCB time to clear first. This allows selectivity in a multi-level distribution board — only the faulted branch trips, not the entire panel. The 3 kA surge current resistance (rated impulse withstand) confirms it will not nuisance-trip on lightning or switching surges.
Snap-on DIN rail (REG) mount, 36 mm wide (2.5 modular width units per DIN 43880 size 1), 70 mm deep, 90 mm tall. Mounts in any position. Finger and back-of-hand safe touch protection is built in. Installation depth is 70 mm — verify the gland plate and wiring space in your enclosure, especially if back-panel wiring is tight. The 2.5 width units mean it occupies two and a half 18 mm module positions on the DIN rail.
