The Siemens 5SM3614-6BA is a 2-pole residual current operated circuit breaker (RCCB) from the SENTRON 5SM3 series, rated 40 A at 230 V AC with a 300 mA Type A tripping characteristic. The instantaneous design (no short-time delay) ensures it trips within milliseconds on a residual current exceeding 300 mA. Terminals accept solid or stranded conductors from 1 to 16 mm², with a tightening torque of 2.5 to 3 N·m. The IP20 rating applies when installed in a distribution board with connected conductors; the housing is finger and back-of-hand safe per the protection against electrical shock standard.
Integration into a distribution board
Mounts on standard DIN rail (REG) in any position. Supply can enter from top or bottom; the 2-pole design switches both phase and neutral. Silicon-free construction suits applications where silicone outgassing could contaminate contacts or optics.
