RCCB for mixed-frequency residual currents
The Siemens SENTRON 5SM3624-4 is a 2-pole residual current operated circuit breaker (RCCB) rated 40 A with a 300 mA trip threshold. It is type B, short-time delayed — meaning it detects smooth DC residual currents and high-frequency AC components that standard AC or A types miss, while the delay provides selectivity against nuisance tripping from transient surges or inrush on downstream loads. The 10 kA short-circuit current rating (SCCR) per IEC 61008-1 and EN 60898 (0.8 kA) defines the fault level it can safely interrupt without upstream protection needing to clear first.
DIN-rail fit and panel integration
Mounts on standard DIN rail (REG) in any position — no orientation restriction. Occupies 4 modular width units (72 mm wide) with a 70 mm installation depth. The IP20 rating applies once the distribution board is installed with connected conductors, so it is intended for enclosed panel use, not open washdown areas.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
Listed as current production (active lifecycle stage). Sourced and quoted to order against an RFQ through independent distribution; availability and current pricing confirmed at quote time.
