The Siemens SENTRON 5SM3646-5 is a selective Type B residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) — 4-pole, rated 63 A at 40 °C, with a 300 mA tripping threshold and a 10 kA short-circuit current rating. The selective design (time-delayed) means it coordinates with downstream RCCBs: on a fault, the downstream device trips first, leaving this one closed to keep upstream circuits live. That's the difference between losing one branch and losing the whole panel.
Type B detection handles AC, pulsating DC, smooth DC, and high-frequency residual currents. The 300 mA trip threshold is typical for selective RCCBs in distribution boards feeding sub-distribution or fixed equipment. At 50 °C it drops to 60.48 A, at 60 °C to 55.44 A, and at 70 °C to 50.4 A. Mounting position is any — no restriction on upright or horizontal. The top or bottom feed option means you can bus it either way; the SIGRES function (selective isolation) stays active even with bottom feed in the off state. Silicon-free construction, which matters if this goes into a paint shop or coating line where silicone outgassing causes fisheyes.
