Siemens 5SN4306-7CN — SENTRON 3-pole MCB, C-curve, 6A
The Siemens 5SN4306-7CN is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with three poles, a C tripping characteristic, and a 6 A rated current. It breaks fault currents up to 10 kA at 400 V AC per EN 60898, which covers the majority of commercial and light industrial panelboard applications where the prospective short-circuit current stays under that threshold. The C-curve (5–10× In) means it tolerates the inrush of motor starters and small transformers without nuisance tripping, while still clearing fast enough for branch-circuit protection.
Fit and panel integration
The 5SN4306-7CN occupies 3 modular width units (54 mm) on a DIN rail, with a depth of 76 mm and an installation depth of 70 mm. It mounts in any position and accepts solid conductors up to 25 mm². The IP20 rating (with connected conductors) is standard for enclosed panelboard use — not for wet or outdoor locations. Vibration resistance to 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6 means it holds up on machine-mounted subpanels near rotating equipment.
Environmental and compliance notes
Halogen-free and silicon-free construction. Sealable for lockout/tagout compliance. Touch protection is provided. The operating temperature range is -40 °C to +75 °C, with derating above +55 °C at 95% humidity. Overvoltage category III and pollution degree 2 — standard for fixed-installation distribution boards.
