The Siemens SENTRON 5SN6206-6CN is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker with a B tripping characteristic, rated 6 A at 400 V AC and 6 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898.
The B-curve trips between 3 and 5 times rated current — that's 18 to 30 A instantaneous magnetic release. It's sized for resistive and small inductive loads where inrush isn't severe: lighting circuits, control transformers, general-purpose socket outlets. The 6 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without the arc re-striking or the case rupturing — adequate for most commercial and light industrial sub-distribution boards where the prospective short-circuit current at the panel is under 6 kA.
Terminal and wiring notes
Screw-type terminals accept solid or stranded copper from 0.75 mm² up to 25 mm². Tightening torque is 2.5 to 3 N·m — a standard slim-tip screwdriver on a torque driver handles it.
Environmental tolerance
Rated for -25 °C to +45 °C operating ambient, with storage from -40 °C to +75 °C. It can handle periodic humidity up to 55 °C at 95% RH without condensation issues. Vibration resistance to 50 m/s² over 25–150 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6 means it's fine on a machine frame or in a panel mounted near a conveyor drive — no special isolation needed.
