It protects branch circuits against overload and short-circuit in residential, commercial, and light industrial panels. The 90 mm height is standard for the SENTRON 5SN family, so it fits existing distribution boards and sub-panels without re-spacing.
For purely resistive loads or long cable runs, a B-curve would trip sooner; for high-inrush loads like large motors, a D-curve is preferred. The 6 kA (EN 60898) rating covers most residential and commercial final circuits. The 15 kA (IEC 60947-2) rating gives headroom for industrial panels where fault levels are higher — useful when the same breaker is used across multiple sites with varying SCCR requirements. DC operation is supported up to 72 V, so it can also be used in DC sub-distribution or control circuits within that voltage limit. Terminals accept solid conductors up to 35 mm², which is generous for a 2-pole MCB — it allows feeding through larger incoming cables or daisy-chaining to downstream distribution.
Integration notes
The 76 mm overall depth includes terminal projection.
