Siemens 5SN6350-8CP — 3-pole C-curve MCB for 400 V AC distribution
The Siemens 5SN6350-8CP is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON 5SN family, rated 400 V AC at 50 Hz with a C-trip characteristic. It carries a 6 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 and 10 kA per IEC 60947-2 — the IEC 60947-2 figure is the one that governs industrial panel SCCR calculations, so that 10 kA rating is the number to use when coordinating with upstream protection in a distribution board.
DIN-rail fit and panel integration
Occupies 3 modular width units (54 mm) on a standard DIN rail, with a depth of 76 mm and installation depth of 70 mm — the same footprint as the 5SL and 5SJ series, so it drops into an existing SENTRON panel without rewiring or re-spacing. Accepts solid conductors up to 35 mm², which covers most downstream feeder and branch circuits in a 400 V distribution board.
Breaking capacity and coordination
Two breaking-capacity ratings are listed: 6 kA per EN 60898 (the residential/commercial standard) and 10 kA per IEC 60947-2 (the industrial standard). For a panel feeding motor control centers or variable-frequency drives, the 10 kA IEC 60947-2 rating is the one that determines SCCR headroom and selectivity with upstream molded-case breakers. The C-curve (tripping between 5× and 10× rated current) handles moderate inrush from small motors and transformers without nuisance trips.
