It is designed for main breaker duty in residential and infrastructure panels where selectivity — the ability to let a downstream MCB trip first during a fault — is critical. The E curve provides a wider magnetic trip band than B or C curves, which means it holds in during short-duration fault currents that would trip a standard MCB, isolating only the faulted branch. Breaking capacity is 25 kA at 230 V AC per EN 60898, with an insulation voltage rating of 690 V and surge voltage resistance of 6 kV (overvoltage category IV). Occupies 2 modular width units. Enclosure depth is 92 mm.
Shock resistance is 30 g (11 ms half-sine, 3 impacts) per IEC 60068-2-27; vibration resistance is 2 g, 20 frequency cycles 5–150–5 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6. Rated for 20 000 mechanical operating cycles typical.
