Selective main MCB for distribution
It carries a 35 A rated current at 400 V AC, 50 Hz, with a 25 kA breaking capacity certified to EN 60898 — meaning it clears high fault currents upstream without nuisance tripping on downstream branch circuits. The E tripping characteristic is the key differentiator: it's a selective (time-delayed) curve designed for main breaker duty, allowing downstream standard MCBs to clear faults first. Only if the fault persists beyond the delay does the 5SP3735-1 trip, keeping the rest of the board live during a branch fault.
Conductor range accepts 2.5 mm² minimum up to 50 mm² maximum, covering standard distribution wiring from subfeed to main feeder. Saddle terminals are fitted, which grip the conductor firmly without damaging strands — a practical advantage over screw-only clamps when terminating larger cross-sections. Overvoltage category IV (pollution degree unspecified but standard for mains entrance) and 6 kV surge voltage resistance suit it for the service entrance position where direct lightning-induced surges are a real risk.
Mounts on 35 mm standard DIN rail (standard rail per spec), or with accessories on busbar or screw fixing. The 3-pole unit occupies 6 width units (approx 108 mm on a standard DIN rail). Depth is 92 mm including enclosure — check gland plate depth if retrofitting into a shallow enclosure. Switch position indicator shows OFF = green, ON = red for quick visual status check during commissioning or troubleshooting.
