Selective main MCB for high-fault installations
The Siemens SENTRON 5SP3763 is a 1-pole main miniature circuit breaker rated 63 A at 230 V AC, 50 Hz, with a 25 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 — that's the short-circuit rating that decides whether this holds or blows upstream in a residential or infrastructure panel. The Class E tripping characteristic means it's selective (time-delayed) relative to downstream standard MCBs, so a fault on a branch circuit trips the branch breaker, not this main. That selectivity is the whole point: you don't lose the entire panel when a single lighting circuit shorts. That's the spec set for a service entrance or sub-distribution board, not a branch circuit.
Depth is 92 mm, which is deeper than the 5SL series (76 mm) — so if you're swapping from a 5SL6563-7BB, check the enclosure depth. The extra depth houses the selective trip mechanism. Sealable with a lead seal, and the supply cord can be connected in any position. Vibration resistance is 2 g per IEC 60068-2-6, shock resistance 30 g for 11 ms — tough enough for transport and seismic zones.
Environmental range and compliance
Operating temperature spans -40 °C to 70 °C. Mechanical service life is 20,000 switching cycles typical.
