Siemens 5SP4280-6 — 80 A B-Curve MCB in Current Production
The Siemens 5SP4280-6 is a SENTRON 5SP series miniature circuit breaker, 2-pole, B-curve, rated 80 A at 30 °C (76 A at 40 °C, 71.6 A at 50 °C) on 400 V AC, 50/60 Hz supply. The B-curve trips between 3–5× In, so it handles lighting and general-purpose loads without nuisance trips on inrush. Lifecycle status is current production.
The 80 A rating at 30 °C is the headline number, but the real-world capacity drops to 76 A at 40 °C inside a closed panel and 71.6 A at 50 °C — the thermal derating curve matters when the distribution board sits near a heat source or in a crowded enclosure. IP20 with connected conductors, IP40 at the handle area with a distribution cover — not for wet washdown, but fine for dry indoor enclosures. Mounts on DIN rail or screw fixing, any position. Tunnel terminals top and bottom accept the usual conductor sizes for 80 A branch circuits. Sealable, halogen-free, silicon-free — relevant for food, pharma, or clean-room panels where outgassing or tamper evidence matters.
