The 1+N-pole design switches the line conductor and opens the neutral — common in single-phase final circuits where both poles need isolation. Wire the supply to the top terminals, load to the bottom; the test button exercises the residual-current trip mechanism without disturbing downstream loads.
Type AC detects sinusoidal AC residual currents only — it is not suitable for pulsed DC or smooth DC fault currents. The 10 mA rated residual operating current (IΔn) provides a lower trip threshold than standard 30 mA devices, used where a higher sensitivity to earth leakage is required by code or specification.
