The Siemens 5SU1154-0KV16 is a combined residual-current and miniature circuit breaker (FI/LS-protector) in a 1+N-pole form factor, rated B 16A with a 10kA breaking capacity and a 10mA residual operating current.
The B 16A trip curve provides instantaneous magnetic release at 3–5× In (48–80 A), typical for general-purpose socket-outlet and lighting circuits where inrush from switching power supplies or incandescent loads stays below that threshold. The 10kA breaking capacity (per IEC 60898-1) is the maximum prospective short-circuit current the device can safely interrupt at its rated voltage — adequate for most final subcircuits in a standard 230/400 V TN system where the fault level at the board is under 10 kA. The 10mA residual sensitivity (IΔn) is the lowest standard value for personnel protection (additional protection per IEC 60364-7-701 in wet areas, e.g. showers or outdoor sockets).
Deployment context
The 1+N-pole design occupies a single modular width in the distribution board, with the switched neutral on the right pole. Type AC detection covers sinusoidal AC residual currents only — if the downstream load includes single-phase rectifiers, variable-speed drives, or UPS-fed circuits that can generate pulsed DC fault currents, a Type A or Type F device would be required instead.
