The 1+N-pole configuration and B-curve 6 A overcurrent characteristic make it a direct fit for final circuits where both earth-fault and overcurrent protection are required in a single 70 mm-wide module.
Type A detection means the device responds to AC sinusoidal residual currents and also to pulsating DC residual currents — the standard requirement for circuits with single-phase rectified loads (electronic ballasts, switched-mode power supplies, washing machines). The 10 mA IΔN is a high-sensitivity threshold used for circuits where additional protection against electric shock is specified (e.g., socket-outlets in bathrooms, outdoor installations, or medical locations per IEC 60364). The B-curve 6 A trips instantaneously at 3–5× In (18–30 A) for short-circuit protection, suited for resistive or lightly inductive loads such as lighting or small appliance circuits.
