What this RCBO is and what it protects
The Siemens 5SU1324-6KX06 is a 2-pole residual current operated circuit breaker (RCBO) from the SENTRON series, combining overcurrent protection and 30 mA residual current detection in a single 3-module-width unit (54 mm wide per, 90 mm tall per, 77 mm deep per). It is rated 6 A with a B-curve tripping characteristic, meaning the magnetic trip operates between 3 and 5 times rated current — suited for resistive and light inductive loads where nuisance tripping from inrush is not expected. The 30 mA residual sensitivity covers personnel protection (indirect contact) and fire prevention per IEC 60364. Breaking capacity is dual-rated: 10 kA per EN 60898 for domestic-type installations, and 35 kA per IEC 60947-2 for industrial distribution — the higher figure applies when the RCBO is backed by an upstream current-limiting device. The 4 000 V surge voltage resistance and overvoltage category III confirm it is rated for fixed-installation mains supply, not downstream equipment-level protection.
Panel fit and environmental limits
Mounts on DIN rail in any orientation. The 70 mm installation depth plus 7 mm for the housing means it clears most 80 mm deep enclosures. Supply can enter from top or bottom, which simplifies busbar routing in a crowded panel. IP20 rating applies only when the distribution board is installed and conductors are connected — this is a panel-internal device, not surface-mount. Ambient range spans -40 °C to 75 °C, covering unheated utility rooms and hot switchgear cubicles. The 95% humidity limit is standard for enclosed electrical rooms. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction matters for clean-room or semiconductor-adjacent installations where outgassing contaminates optics or contacts.
