What it is and what it does
The Siemens 5SU1324-7FP10 is a 2-pole RCBO (residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection) from the SENTRON series, combining ground-fault and overcurrent protection in a single 36 mm wide (2 MW) package. It carries a C-curve trip characteristic, meaning it trips at 5–10 times rated current — suited for circuits with moderate inrush, like small motor loads or lighting banks. At 30 °C ambient it is rated 10 A; derate linearly to 8.2 A at 70 °C. Breaking capacity is 10 kA per EN 60898 and 15 kA per IEC 60947-2, so it handles fault currents up to those levels without upstream cascading. The 2-pole design protects both phase and neutral, with the supply cord position flexible — top or bottom feed. It snaps onto a DIN rail and requires no additional enclosure beyond the distribution board; the IP20 rating applies once installed with conductors connected. Overvoltage category III and pollution degree 3 suit it for fixed-installation panels in industrial or commercial buildings.
Integration notes
Mounts in any position on a 35 mm DIN rail. Depth is 72 mm, height 85 mm — verify enclosure depth clearance before panel layout. The 2 MW width (36 mm) occupies two adjacent 18 mm slots. Supply can enter from top or bottom; no polarity restriction on the line/load side for the overcurrent function. The residual current detection circuit requires the neutral conductor to pass through the internal summation CT — standard for 2-pole RCBOs.
