RCBO for panel protection — 32 A, 30 mA residual, type C
The Siemens 5SU1324-7FP32 is a 2-pole RCBO (residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection) from the SENTRON series, combining a 32 A MCB with type C tripping characteristic and a 30 mA residual current device type A in a single 36 mm wide module. Rated breaking capacity is 10 kA per EN 60898 and 15 kA per IEC 60947-2, which covers most commercial and light industrial panel applications where the fault level at the distribution board stays under those thresholds. The 30 mA residual sensitivity (type A) handles pulsating DC fault currents from electronics loads — common in modern lighting, IT equipment, and small drives — so it's suited for general-purpose final circuits rather than pure sine-wave AC-only installations.
Thermal derating and mounting
Full rated current of 32 A holds at 30 °C ambient; at 40 °C it derates to 30.8 A, at 50 °C to 29.5 A, and at 60 °C to 28.8 A (–). That matters when the RCBO sits in a crowded enclosure with multiple heat sources — the actual continuous load should stay under the derated figure for the enclosure's internal temperature. Mounting position is unrestricted, and the supply can enter from either top or bottom. The 36 mm width (2 modular units) fits standard DIN-rail distribution boards; depth is 72 mm plus 70 mm installation depth.
Compliance and approvals
Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 500 V. Overvoltage category III and pollution degree 3 — suitable for fixed-installation distribution boards. Energy limitation class 3 and touch protection fitted. The product designation per IEC 81346-2 and DIN EN 61346-2 is F. Operating frequency is 50 Hz. Ambient temperature range -40 °C to +70 °C. IP20 with connected conductors in an installed distribution board.
