The Siemens 5SU1353-0KV16 is a combined residual-current device and miniature circuit breaker (RCBO) — an FI/LS-protector — in a single 1+N-pole module. It carries a Type AC (WS) residual current detection, 30 mA trip sensitivity, and a B-curve overcurrent characteristic rated at 16 A. Breaking capacity is 4.5 kA. The unit is 70 mm deep, which is the standard depth for Siemens 5SU series enclosures; it snaps onto DIN rail in the same footprint as a standard MCB.
What the ratings mean for your panel
The 30 mA IΔn is the standard sensitivity for personal protection against direct contact in final circuits — it's what you'd spec for socket outlets, lighting, or general-purpose circuits in residential or light commercial distribution boards. Type AC detection means it responds to sinusoidal AC residual currents only; if your load includes rectifiers, VFDs, or switching power supplies that generate pulsed DC fault currents, you'd need a Type A or F device instead. The B-curve (16 A) trips between 3 and 5 times rated current, so it's sized for resistive and moderate inductive loads — lighting, small heaters, control transformers — not for motor starting inrush.
