What this RCBO is and what it does
The Siemens 5SU1353-7KK13 is a SENTRON RCBO — a combined residual-current device and miniature circuit breaker in a single 2-module-wide (36 mm) package. It occupies one pole plus neutral (1P+N) and switches the neutral conductor. Rated at 13 A with a C tripping curve, it handles moderate inrush from motorized or capacitive loads while providing 30 mA Type A residual-current protection for sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC fault currents. Breaking capacity is rated at 4.5 kA per EN 60898 for domestic-style installation and 15 kA per IEC 60947-2 for industrial distribution boards. The higher IEC figure gives the panel designer headroom for fault-current coordination downstream of a larger upstream breaker. This is a current-production part. Sourced and quoted to order against an RFQ through independent distribution; availability and current pricing confirmed at quote time.
DIN-rail footprint and panel integration
At 36 mm wide (2 modular units), 90 mm tall, and 77 mm deep, the 5SU1353-7KK13 snaps onto standard DIN rail and requires 70 mm installation depth behind the panel surface. Mounting position is unrestricted. Supply can enter from either top or bottom, which simplifies bus-bar routing in crowded enclosures. IP20 rating applies once installed in a distribution board with connected conductors. Overvoltage category III and pollution degree 2 suit fixed-installation environments.
Construction and environmental range
Halogen-free and silicon-free construction — relevant for clean-room or semiconductor-adjacent panels where outgassing or silicone contamination is a concern. Ambient operating range spans -40 °C to 75 °C, with max 95% humidity.
