The Type A fault-current detection handles pulsating DC residual currents up to 6 mA smooth DC superimposed, which covers most single-phase rectified loads like switching power supplies and variable-speed drives on the line side. Breaking capacity is 4.5 kA per EN 60898 at 230/240 V AC, 50 Hz — standard for final-distribution boards in residential and light commercial panels where the prospective short-circuit current stays under that threshold. The instantaneous design (no intentional time delay on the residual side) means it trips within 40 ms on a ground fault, which is the default for personnel protection in most IEC 60364 installations.
Temperature derating and panel fit
Rated current drops with ambient temperature inside the enclosure: 5.7 A at 40 °C, 5.4 A at 50 °C, 5.1 A at 60 °C, and 4.62 A at 70 °C. Mounting position is any, and supply can enter from top or bottom — no orientation restrictions that complicate panel layout. IP20 only when installed in a distribution board with conductors connected; not rated for wet or dusty environments without an outer enclosure.
Compliance and materials
Energy limiting class 3, overvoltage category III, pollution degree 2. Designed per DIN EN 61346-2 and DIN EN 81346-2 (function code F).
