FI/LS-Protector Type A, 1+N-Pole C 6A
The Siemens 5SU1353-7KV06 is a combined residual-current device and miniature circuit breaker (RCBO) in a single 1+N-pole module. It integrates Type A earth-leakage protection at 30 mA IΔn with a C-curve 6 A overcurrent trip, all rated for 4.5 kA breaking capacity. The Type A classification means it detects pulsating DC fault currents on top of sinusoidal AC — essential for modern loads with rectifiers, VFDs, or switching power supplies that can mask a pure AC fault signature.
What the ratings mean for fit
The C-curve 6 A overcurrent characteristic trips between 5× and 10× rated current (30–60 A magnetic release), sized for motor-starter, lighting, or general-purpose branch circuits where inrush is moderate. The 30 mA IΔn is the standard residual-current threshold for personnel protection (hand-to-hand or hand-to-ground fault path). The 4.5 kA breaking capacity at 230/400 V AC is adequate for domestic and light commercial distribution boards where the prospective short-circuit current stays below that level — check the supply-side SCCR before specifying into an industrial panel with a large upstream transformer.
Panel integration note
The 1+N-pole module occupies a single 18 mm DIN-rail width. The D=70 mm depth (body depth behind the panel) fits standard distribution-board enclosures; verify gland-plate clearance if the board is shallow. Spring-cage terminals accept 0.75–25 mm² conductors — torque to the manufacturer's specification on the nameplate.
