What it is and what the ratings mean
The Siemens 5SU1354-0KV32 is a combined residual-current device and miniature circuit breaker (RCBO) — an FI/LS protector — in a single 1+N-pole module. It delivers Type AC residual current detection at 30 mA, combined with a B-curve overcurrent trip at 32 A, all rated for a 10 kA breaking capacity. The 30 mA trip threshold means it protects against direct-contact faults in circuits supplying socket outlets or general-purpose loads, not just fire-prevention earth leakage. The B-curve (3-5 In) is the standard choice for resistive and general-purpose loads in domestic or light commercial final circuits, tripping fast on short circuits but tolerating the inrush of incandescent lighting or small electronics.
Integration and mounting
The 70 mm depth (D=70MM) matches the standard Siemens 5SU series footprint for DIN-rail mounting in distribution boards. The 1+N-pole form factor occupies a single module width, so it fits retrofit into existing consumer units or sub-distribution panels without re-spacing. The Type AC detection handles sinusoidal AC residual currents — the most common domestic fault waveform — but does not cover pulsating DC or smooth DC faults. For circuits with variable-speed drives, LED lighting, or EV chargers, a Type A or Type F device would be needed instead.
