The Siemens 5SU1354-1KV16 is a combined residual current device and miniature circuit breaker (RCBO) in a single 1+N-pole module. It combines Type AC earth leakage protection at 30 mA rated residual current with a C-curve thermal-magnetic overcurrent trip set at 16 A, all rated for a 10 kA breaking capacity per IEC/EN 61009. The 70 mm depth fits standard Siemens distribution boards and consumer units where space behind the DIN rail is constrained.
The C-curve (16 A) means the magnetic trip operates at 5 to 10 times rated current — 80 to 160 A — so it handles motor inrush and transformer energisation without nuisance tripping, while still clearing short circuits fast. The 10 kA breaking capacity (Icn) tells you this device can safely interrupt a fault current up to 10,000 A at the rated voltage — sufficient for most domestic and light commercial final circuits where the prospective short-circuit current at the board is below that level.
