What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 5SU1354-1RC32 is a 2-pole (1P+N) RCBO combining overcurrent protection and residual current detection in a single 36 mm wide (2-module) DIN-rail unit. It is rated 32 A with a C tripping characteristic and Type AC 30 mA residual sensitivity, meaning it protects against both overload/short-circuit and sinusoidal earth faults in standard AC circuits — the most common configuration for residential and light commercial final circuits. Breaking capacity is 10 kA per EN 60898 and 15 kA per IEC 60947-2, so it handles fault currents up to those levels without external current-limiting fuses in most panelboard applications. The 4 kV surge voltage resistance (rated impulse withstand) and overvoltage category III rating confirm it is designed for fixed-installation distribution boards, not for plug-in portable use.
Integration and mounting
Snaps onto standard 35 mm DIN rail; occupies two modular width units (36 mm). Depth is 70 mm, height 90 mm — fits standard enclosure cutouts. Supply can feed from either top or bottom, and the unit can be mounted in any position, which simplifies panel layout when busbar routing is tight. IP20 protection applies only when installed in a distribution board with conductors connected — treat it as a panel-internal device, not suitable for exposed or washdown locations.
