The Siemens 5SU1356-0DV32 is an FI/LS-protector combining a Type AC residual-current device (30 mA) and a B-curve 32 A miniature circuit breaker in a single 1+N-pole unit, with a 6 kA breaking capacity and a pig-tail neutral connection.
What the ratings mean for fit
Type AC detection means it trips on sinusoidal AC residual currents only — the standard choice for general-purpose circuits feeding resistive and inductive loads like lighting, socket outlets, and small motors. It does not detect pulsed DC or smooth DC faults, so it is not suited for circuits with VFDs, UPS systems, or EV chargers. The 30 mA sensitivity provides personal protection against direct-contact faults, while the 6 kA breaking capacity handles low-level short-circuits. B-curve 32 A trips between 3 and 5 times rated current, suited for resistive and general-purpose loads with moderate inrush — not for motor starting or transformer loads that need a C or D curve. The pig-tail neutral (D = 70 mm) is a factory-fitted flying lead for the neutral busbar; it simplifies wiring in compact consumer units but means the unit is not plug-in compatible with standard DIN-rail neutral bars.
