What this RCBO is and what it does
The Siemens 5SU1356-6GV10 is a 2-pole RCBO (residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection) from the SENTRON series, combining a B-curve MCB and a Type A RCD in a single 36 mm wide (2 MW) unit. It's rated 10 A at 30 °C with a 6 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 and 15 kA per IEC 60947-2, so it handles both overcurrent and earth-fault protection in one DIN-rail footprint — no separate RCD needed downstream.
Ratings that matter for panel fit
The B-curve trips between 3 and 5 times rated current — standard for resistive and general-purpose loads where you don't want nuisance trips from motor inrush. Type A residual current detection catches pulsating DC fault currents from electronics and single-phase rectifiers, which a plain AC type would miss. At 40 °C ambient the continuous rating derates to 9.5 A; at 50 °C it's 9 A. If the panel runs hot — say above 55 °C — plan for 8.7 A or less. The 77 mm depth and 36 mm width (2 MW) mean it fits standard 18 mm/module DIN-rail enclosures; supply can land top or bottom. IP20 with the distribution board installed and conductors connected — standard for enclosed panel use, not for wet or outdoor locations.
