The 40 A rating governs the overcurrent protection — sized for a 40 A circuit, not a motor branch where the full-load current is lower and the D curve handles the start. The 2-pole configuration breaks both phase and neutral on a single-phase or split-phase supply. The Type A residual detection is the key differentiator from a basic AC-type RCD: it catches the pulsed DC fault currents that modern electronics generate, which a Type AC device would miss.
Panel integration
The 4-module width matches standard distribution board cutouts; the RCBO clips into the same rail as adjacent MCBs, RCCBs, and busbar systems. Terminal capacity accepts up to 25 mm² conductor for the 40 A rating — sufficient for the incoming supply tails and outgoing circuit wiring.
