The Siemens SENTRON 5SU1454-1KK06 is a 2-pole (1P+N) residual-current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection — an RCBO — combining a 6 A thermal-magnetic MCB (C curve) and a 100 mA AC-type RCD in one 36 mm wide, 2-module-width housing. It protects a single-phase final subcircuit against overload, short-circuit (10 kA Icn per EN 60898, 35 kA Icu per IEC 60947-2), and earth faults up to the rated residual current. The neutral pole is switched, so the outgoing neutral is disconnected when the device trips or is manually opened.
Its 36 mm width (2 module units) matches the standard SENTRON modular grid. Supply can enter from either top or bottom, which simplifies wiring when the busbar arrangement dictates the feed direction. The IP20 rating applies once installed with conductors connected — the panel enclosure provides the environmental seal.
The C-curve trip characteristic means the magnetic release operates at 5 to 10 times rated current (30–60 A for this 6 A unit), suited for circuits with moderate inrush — lighting banks, small motor loads, control transformers. The 100 mA residual-current sensitivity (AC type) detects sinusoidal earth faults only; it is not suitable for pulsating DC or smooth DC fault currents (those need type A or F). The 10 kA Icn rating covers the majority of domestic and light commercial service-entrance fault levels; the 35 kA Icu rating gives additional headroom for industrial panels with higher prospective short-circuit current — the device can interrupt a 35 kA fault once (Icu) and still be functional afterward, whereas Icn is the rated short-circuit capacity for the full duty cycle.
