The Siemens 5SU1654-0KK13 is a SENTRON RCBO — a combined residual-current circuit breaker and miniature circuit breaker in one 2-module-wide (36 mm) package, 1P+N, designed for 230 V AC single-phase circuits. It carries a 13 A rated current with a Type B tripping characteristic, protecting against both overload and short-circuit, and integrates residual-current detection for AC fault currents. Breaking capacity is rated at 10 kA per EN 60898 and 20 kA per IEC 60947-2, meaning it can safely interrupt fault currents up to those levels — the higher IEC figure gives headroom for industrial panels where the prospective short-circuit current may exceed 10 kA.
Current derating and thermal behaviour
Rated current is 13 A at 30 °C, but the RCBO derates as ambient temperature rises: 12.48 A at 40 °C, 12.22 A at 45 °C, 11.96 A at 50 °C, 11.57 A at 55 °C, 11.31 A at 60 °C, 10.53 A at 65 °C, and 10.01 A at 70 °C. For a 13 A resistive load in a 50 °C cabinet, you're limited to about 12 A.
The 36 mm width (2 width units) matches standard modular enclosure cutouts. Touch protection is built in, so accidental contact with live terminals during maintenance is prevented when the device is properly installed.
