What the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens 5SU1654-0KV06 is a combined residual-current device and miniature circuit breaker (RCBO) — one unit, one DIN-rail module, one pair of outgoing terminals. The 6 A B-curve overcurrent characteristic trips between 3× and 5× rated current, which is the standard choice for general-purpose lighting and socket-outlet circuits in residential and light commercial panels. The 300 mA residual sensitivity (Type AC, meaning it detects sinusoidal AC fault currents only) is not for personnel protection — that requires 30 mA — but for fire-prevention and equipment-protection duty: feeders, sub-distribution, or circuits where the earth leakage is naturally higher and a 30 mA device would nuisance-trip. The 10 kA breaking capacity at the rated voltage means it can safely interrupt a bolted fault up to that level; coordination with an upstream 63 A gG fuse or a higher-rated MCB is needed if the prospective short-circuit current exceeds 10 kA.
Panel integration notes
The 70 mm depth (D=70mm) is worth checking against shallow enclosures — most consumer units and small distribution boards accept 70 mm, but a compact enclosure with a 60 mm gland plate depth will conflict. The 1+N-pole format (switched phase, solid neutral) fits standard single-phase final circuits; the neutral bar is continuous through the device, so no separate neutral link is needed downstream. Mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715, occupying one modular width (18 mm per pole, so 2 modules for the 1+N arrangement).
