What this RCBO is and where it fits
The Siemens 5SU1654-1KK13 is a 1P+N RCBO from the SENTRON family — a combined overcurrent and residual current device in a single 36 mm wide (2 modular width units) package. Rated 13 A at 30 °C with a C tripping characteristic (magnetic release at 5–10× In), it is built for 50 Hz TN/TT systems and snaps onto DIN rail in any mounting position.
Breaking capacity and standards
Two breaking capacity ratings apply: 10 kA per EN 60898 (the standard for household MCBs/RCBOs) and 20 kA per IEC 60947-2 (the industrial standard for switchgear and controlgear). The 20 kA figure under 60947-2 gives this unit SCCR headroom for light industrial sub-distribution where fault levels exceed domestic limits. Overvoltage category III and pollution degree 2 match fixed-installation panel environments.
Temperature derating — what the 13 A rating actually delivers
The 13 A rating is valid at 30 °C ambient. At 40 °C it derates to 12.48 A, at 50 °C to 11.96 A, and at 70 °C to 10.01 A. For a panel with elevated internal temperature — common in densely packed enclosures — use the 40 °C or 50 °C figure for load planning. The continuous rating at 60 °C is 11.31 A; at 65 °C it drops to 10.53 A. This is not a 13 A device at all ambients.
Physical integration
Width is 36 mm (2 MW), depth 77 mm, installation depth 70 mm. Height 90 mm. The unit is halogen-free and silicon-free. Supply can enter from top or bottom. IP20 with connected conductors — suitable for enclosed distribution boards, not open panels. Energy limitation class 3 means it limits let-through energy to a moderate level, typical for C-curve RCBOs.
