The Siemens SENTRON 5SU1654-6KK13 is a 2-pole (1P+N) RCBO — a combined residual-current device and miniature circuit breaker in one 36 mm wide module. Rated 13 A at 30 °C with a B tripping curve, it protects against overcurrent and earth faults in a single unit, saving DIN rail space over separate RCD + MCB. The Type A residual-current detection handles sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC fault currents, which is the standard requirement for most residential and light commercial final circuits with electronics or rectified loads.
Breaking capacity and derating
Rated short-circuit breaking capacity is 10 kA per EN 60898 and 20 kA per IEC 60947-2. The higher IEC figure applies when the RCBO is used as a distribution-board component under the industrial standard — useful for higher-fault installations. The 13 A rating at 30 °C derates to 12.48 A at 40 °C and further to 10.01 A at 70 °C. For a panel that runs warm (55 °C ambient), expect 11.57 A continuous — plan the load accordingly.
Mounting and integration
Occupies 2 modular width units (36 mm) on a DIN rail. Depth is 77 mm, installation depth 70 mm. Mounting position is unrestricted — any orientation works. Supply can be connected from either top or bottom, which simplifies panel wiring. IP20 protection applies only when the distribution board is installed and conductors are connected — treat it as a panel-internal device, not for wet or outdoor enclosures without additional sealing.
