The Siemens SENTRON 5SU1654-7KK13 is a 1P+N RCBO combining overcurrent protection and residual current detection in a 36 mm wide, 2 MW unit. Rated 13 A with a C tripping characteristic and 10 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898, it handles the magnetic trip curve for motor and lighting circuits where moderate inrush is expected. The Type A fault current sensing catches pulsating DC and AC residual currents — relevant for circuits feeding single-phase electronics, VFDs, or switching power supplies that can generate smoothed DC fault components.
Current derating and ambient limits
Full rated current of 13 A holds at 30 °C ambient. Above that, derate linearly: 12.48 A at 40 °C, 12.22 A at 45 °C, 11.96 A at 50 °C, 11.57 A at 55 °C, 11.31 A at 60 °C, 10.53 A at 65 °C, and 10.01 A at 70 °C. The operating ambient range is -25 to +55 °C; storage range extends to -40 to +75 °C. If the panel runs hot — say a crowded enclosure near a drive — size the circuit so the continuous load stays under the derated figure at the actual cabinet temperature.
Wiring and mounting
Accepts solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 mm² up to 35 mm² — covers most panel wiring from control circuits to feeder tails. Mounting position is any orientation; installation depth is 70 mm. The supply cord can enter from either top or bottom, which simplifies busbar routing in a distribution board. The IP20 rating applies once the distribution board is installed with conductors connected — not a standalone outdoor device.
