What the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens 5SU9346-7CR10 is an RCBO — a combined residual-current device and miniature circuit breaker in one 1P+N module. Its 6 kA Icn breaking capacity at 230 VAC means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to 6 kA without welding contacts or cascading damage upstream, which is the standard rating for domestic and light commercial distribution boards in most IEC markets. The Type A residual-current element (30 mA rated residual operating current) detects pulsating DC fault currents as well as sinusoidal AC — essential on circuits feeding electronics, LED drivers, or single-phase VFDs that generate half-wave rectified leakage. The C-curve (C-Char) trips magnetically at 5 to 10 times In (50–100 A) for the short-circuit path, so it handles motor inrush and capacitive loads without nuisance trips, while still clearing a hard fault fast. Rated current In is 10 A with a 30 mA residual threshold; that combination is typical for lighting circuits, small appliance outlets, or control transformers in a panel where both overcurrent and earth-leakage protection are required in a single module width. The 1P+N form factor switches the line conductor only; the neutral is switched internally for isolation but not protected against overcurrent.
Deployment context
Snaps onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail inside a consumer unit or sub-distribution board. The single-module width (18 mm per pole) means it occupies one position in a multi-row enclosure — useful when retrofitting RCBO protection into a full rail without re-spacing the entire row.
