What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 5SU9356-1KN06 is a 1P+N RCD-operated circuit breaker (RCBO) combining overcurrent and residual current protection in a single 36 mm wide unit. Rated 6 A with a C tripping characteristic, it handles the inrush of motorized or transformer loads without nuisance trips. The 10 kA breaking capacity per IEC 60947-2 gives fault-clearing headroom above the 6 kA EN 60898 rating — useful where the prospective short-circuit current at the panel exceeds the lower standard.
Current derating and ambient limits
Full rated current of 6 A holds at 30 °C ambient. Above that, derate: 5.64 A at 40 °C, 5.46 A at 45 °C, 5.22 A at 50 °C, and 4.86 A at 55 °C. The operating ambient range is -25 to +45 °C — if the panel runs hotter, the derating curve governs the actual load the RCBO can carry continuously.
Mounting and wiring
Snaps onto DIN rail, occupies 2 width units (36 mm), installation depth 70 mm. Accepts solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 to 35 mm² — covers most sub-feed and branch circuit sizes. Supply can enter from top or bottom; mounting position is unrestricted. IP20 rated once installed in a distribution board with conductors connected.
