What this RCBO is and what it protects
The Siemens SENTRON 5SU9356-7CN06 is a combined residual-current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO) in a 1P+N, 2-module-width package. It integrates a Type A RCD (30 mA trip threshold) and a C-characteristic MCB (6 A rated current) into one DIN-rail unit, saving a slot over separate devices. The C curve means it handles moderate inrush — typical for motor starters, contactor coils, and small transformers — without nuisance tripping on startup. Breaking capacity is rated 6 kA per EN 60898 for domestic/commercial distribution boards and 10 kA per IEC 60947-2 for industrial panel applications. That dual rating covers most low-fault-current scenarios; if your prospective short-circuit current exceeds 10 kA at the point of installation, step up to a higher-rated device.
Mounting and wiring — panel fit
Snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail. The 36 mm width (2 MW) and 77 mm depth leave room for wiring in a standard distribution board; installation depth is 70 mm. Supply can enter from top or bottom — no forced orientation. Terminals accept up to the usual RCBO conductor sizes; verify the gland plate clearance if your enclosure is tight on depth. IP20 rating applies when installed in a distribution board with conductors connected — not for standalone outdoor use. Ambient range runs -40 °C to 75 °C, which covers unheated plant rooms and outdoor enclosures in most climates.
