The Siemens 5SU9604-1KK06 is a SENTRON RCBO — a combined RCD and MCB in a single 1-module-wide (18 mm) package. The 1P+N design switches the line pole and monitors the neutral; the neutral is not switched.
The 10 kA breaking capacity (EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2) means this RCBO can safely interrupt a fault current up to 10,000 A — sufficient for most domestic and light commercial installations where the prospective short-circuit current at the board is under that threshold. The Type A residual current detection catches pulsating DC fault currents (e.g., from rectifiers or switched-mode supplies) that a Type AC device would miss. The 30 mA sensitivity provides personal protection against direct contact. Temperature derating is built in: at 40 °C the continuous rating drops to 5.64 A, at 50 °C to 5.22 A. If the board runs warm, size the circuit load accordingly. The device is rated for overvoltage category III (distribution level) and pollution degree 2, which covers typical indoor panel environments.
At 18 mm (1 MW) wide, it occupies a single module slot — critical when retrofitting into a crowded board. IP20 protection applies once the distribution board is installed and conductors are connected.
