It protects final circuits against earth faults (30 mA, Type AC) and overload/short-circuit (13 A, C-curve). Rated breaking capacity is 4.5 kA per EN 60898 and 5 kA per IEC 60947-2 — enough for most domestic and light commercial distribution boards. The 30 mA residual sensitivity (Type AC) catches sinusoidal AC fault currents; it's the standard choice for general-purpose socket circuits and lighting.

Derate linearly: 12.35 A at 40 °C, 11.96 A at 45 °C, 11.57 A at 50 °C, 11.18 A at 55 °C, 10.79 A at 60 °C, 10.4 A at 65 °C, 10.01 A at 70 °C. In a crowded enclosure at 50 °C, plan for 11.5 A continuous load max.
