The Siemens 5SV1316-3KK06 is a SENTRON RCBO — residual current operated circuit breaker with integral overcurrent protection — in the Super resistant K design, meaning the housing and internal construction are specified for environments with higher chemical or thermal stress than standard residential RCBOs. It carries a 6 A rated current (B curve) and a 30 mA residual current trip threshold, Type F, which means it detects AC pulsating and smooth DC residual currents plus high-frequency AC components from variable-speed drives or LED drivers. The 2-pole device occupies a single modular width (18 mm) on the DIN rail, with supply feed accepted from either top or bottom and any mounting position allowed.
Temperature derating — the real current rating
The 6 A rating holds only at 30 °C ambient. At 40 °C the continuous current drops to 5.64 A; at 50 °C it is 5.28 A; at 60 °C it is 4.86 A; at 70 °C it is 4.44 A. If the panel internal temperature runs above 30 °C — common in crowded enclosures or near transformers — size the upstream protective device and the downstream load against the derated figure, not the nameplate 6 A.
Mounting and environment
Snap-on DIN rail mount, 18 mm width (1 MW). Halogen-free and silicon-free construction, which matters for clean-room or high-reliability installations where outgassing can contaminate contacts or optics. Touch protection is integral on the terminals.
