It protects a 1P+N circuit against overload, short-circuit, and earth leakage in one device, saving a DIN-rail slot versus separate MCB + RCCB. The 30 mA residual-current element provides additional protection against electric shock.
Temperature derating — the real-world rating
The 6 A nameplate rating holds only at 30 °C ambient inside the panel. At 40 °C it's 5.64 A; at 50 °C, 5.28 A; at 60 °C, 4.86 A; at 70 °C, 4.44 A. If this RCBO lives in a crowded enclosure near transformers or drives, size the load against the derated figure, not the 30 °C number — a 5 A continuous load at 55 °C is already at the limit.
Snaps onto standard DIN rail, occupies one 18 mm modular width. Supply can come from top or bottom. The IP20 rating applies only after the distribution board is installed with conductors connected — it's not a standalone outdoor device. Depth is 77 mm, installation depth 70 mm, so it fits flush in a standard 90 mm deep enclosure. Mounting position is any, which helps when laying out a tight panel — vertical or horizontal orientation doesn't affect the trip performance.
