Thermal derating — the real-world current limit
The 16 A rating holds at 30 °C ambient. At 40 °C it derates to 15.2 A, at 50 °C to 14.24 A, and at 70 °C to 12.32 A. If the panel runs warm — say a crowded enclosure with drives or transformers — the actual continuous load must stay under the derated figure. The derating curve is published for every 5 °C step, so you can size the branch circuit without guesswork.
Mounting and wiring flexibility
Snaps onto standard 35 mm DIN rail, occupies 1 modular width (18 mm). Installation depth is 70 mm; overall depth 77 mm. The supply cord can enter from either top or bottom, and the mounting position is unrestricted — horizontal, vertical, or upside-down — which simplifies layout in tight enclosures. IP20 rated when installed in a distribution board with connected conductors, meaning it is touch-safe inside a closed panel but not intended for exposed or washdown locations.
