What this RCBO is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 5SV1316-7KK02 is a 2 A residual-current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO) in a 1P+N configuration — one protected pole plus a switched neutral. It occupies a single 18 mm modular-width slot on the DIN rail, so it fits a standard 1-MW position in a distribution board. Rated 2 A at 30 °C ambient with a C tripping characteristic (magnetic release between 5× and 10× In), it handles resistive and moderate motor-start loads on 230 V AC, 50 Hz circuits. The breaking capacity is 6 kA per EN 60898 and 10 kA per IEC 60947-2 — the higher figure applies when the device is used as a distribution-circuit breaker per the industrial standard. Thermal derating is published across the full ambient range: 1.9 A at 40 °C, 1.8 A at 50 °C, 1.7 A at 60 °C, and 1.6 A at 70 °C. If the panel runs hot, size the load to the derated value, not the 30 °C nameplate.
Mounting and environment
Mounts in any position on a DIN rail; supply can enter from top or bottom. Installation depth is 70 mm plus the 77 mm overall depth — plan gland-plate clearance accordingly. The IP20 rating applies only when the distribution board is installed with all conductors connected; the device itself is not sealed for wet or dusty environments. Rated for overvoltage category III and pollution degree 2, which is standard for fixed-installation downstream of the main panel. Surge voltage withstand is 4 kV.
