RCBO for mixed resistive and motor loads
The Siemens 5SV1613-6KK06 is a SENTRON RCBO combining a Type A residual current device with a B-curve MCB in a single 1-module-width (18 mm) package. It protects against earth faults with DC-sensitive detection (Type A) and overcurrent/short-circuit with a 6 A B-curve thermal-magnetic trip. The 4.5 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 and 5 kA per IEC 60947-2 cover most residential and light commercial panel fault levels.
Sizing and derating in the panel
At 30 °C the unit is rated a full 6 A. Above that, derate linearly: 5.64 A at 40 °C, 5.28 A at 50 °C, 4.86 A at 60 °C, and 4.44 A at 70 °C. In a crowded enclosure where ambient hits 50 °C, plan for 5.28 A continuous — not the 6 A label.
Mounting and wiring flexibility
Mounts in any position — no derating for orientation. The 2-pole (1P+N) design switches the line conductor only; the neutral is switched through the RCD. IP20 protection applies once the distribution board is installed and conductors are connected.
