The Siemens SENTRON 5SV1613-6KK13 is a 2-pole residual-current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO), combining a 13 A thermal-magnetic overcurrent trip (B-curve) and a 30 mA Type A residual-current unit in one 18 mm-wide module. It is rated for 50 Hz networks, with a breaking capacity of 4.5 kA per EN 60898 and 5 kA per IEC 60947-2. The Type A residual-current detection handles pulsating DC fault currents up to 30 mA, covering the majority of modern electronic loads (switched-mode power supplies, variable-speed drives, lighting ballasts) that a pure AC-sensitive RCD would miss.
Temperature derating — what the 13 A rating means in a warm panel
The 13 A rating holds only at 30 °C ambient. At 40 °C it derates to 12.35 A, at 50 °C to 11.57 A, and at 70 °C to 10.01 A. In a typical enclosed distribution board where internal temperatures regularly reach 45–50 °C, the effective continuous current is closer to 12 A than 13 A. Factor this into your load schedule if the RCBO sits near other heat sources or in a compact enclosure.
Occupies a single 18 mm modular-width slot on a DIN rail. The 77 mm depth and 90 mm height fit standard distribution boards; the 70 mm installation depth accounts for the rear projection behind the rail. IP20 protection applies once the distribution board is installed and conductors are connected.
