What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 5SV3322-6KK60 is a 2-pole residual current operated circuit breaker (RCCB) rated 25 A, 30 mA residual sensitivity, Type A, with an additional 6 mA DC detection path — the SIGRES variant. It's designed for electro-mobility (EV charging) circuits where smooth DC leakage currents can blind standard Type A devices. The short-time delayed characteristic (S-type) prevents nuisance tripping from transient surges or inrush currents typical of EV supply equipment.
Key ratings — what they mean for fit
The 30 mA residual trip threshold is the standard for personal protection against direct contact in IEC 60364 installations. The 6 mA DC SIGRES function detects smooth DC fault currents up to 6 mA — enough to catch the leakage from a rectifier stage in an EV charger before it desensitises a standard Type A device. The short-circuit withstand rating is 10 kA per IEC 61008-1, with a conditional short-circuit current of 0.8 kA (the IΔn rating for the RCD function). The series fuse maximum permissible is 100 A, so upstream protection must be coordinated.
Where it goes — panel and environment
Mounts on DIN rail (REG) in any position, occupies 4 modular width units (72 mm wide) with a depth of 70 mm and height of 90 mm. The 60 mm grid spacing matches standard distribution-board pitch. IP20 with connected conductors and distribution board installed — suitable for enclosed panel use, not for wet or washdown areas. Ambient range -25 °C to 45 °C operating, -40 °C storage. Supply voltage for the test circuit is 70–250 V AC, 50/60 Hz.
