The Siemens SENTRON 5SV3342-3 is a 4-pole residual current operated circuit breaker (RCCB), type F, short-time delayed, rated 25 A with a 30 mA trip sensitivity on a 400 V AC supply at 50/60 Hz. Type F means it handles residual currents up to 1 kHz, covering variable-speed drives and frequency converters that generate mixed-frequency leakage — a step beyond type A for modern motor circuits. The short-time delayed design gives it selectivity with downstream devices, so a fault on a branch trips the branch breaker first, not this main RCCB.
The IEC 61008-1 rated value of 0.8 kA is the conditional short-circuit current with a series fuse; the 10 kA figure is the standalone SCCR. Mechanical service life of 10,000 operating cycles is standard for this class; it's not a switching contactor, so the cycle count reflects the RCCB's test-button and infrequent manual operation, not daily load switching.
Mounting and installation
Mounts on DIN rail (REG) in any position. Grid spacing of 60 mm matches standard distribution board cutouts. Supply connection can be top or bottom. Protection class IP20 with the distribution board installed and conductors connected — suitable for enclosed panels, not exposed outdoor mounting. The storage limits exceed operating range — handling, not running, is what those govern.
